CHARLOTTE, N.C. — What started out as an initiative to help support local businesses during the pandemic has grown into a weekly event.
University City Food Truck Friday began in the fall of 2020 as part of the city of Charlotte’s “StreetEats” program. The idea was to have some of Charlotte’s favorite restaurants open temporary, outdoor seating in parking lots, private streets and city right-of-ways.
The University City event was so popular, Food Truck Friday is returning this year on a regular basis.
The event takes place every Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Armored Cow Brewery at 8821 JW Clay Blvd.
Each week will feature a new rotation of food trucks, live music, craft vendors and drinks from the brewery. The weekly lineup of food trucks can be found on Facebook under events hosted by Armored Cow and University City Partners.
