Local crossing guard is teaching children important safety lessons

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Susan Killar-Jordan is more than a crossing guard.

She greets her students in a variety of bright colors, all while keeping them safe.

Miss Sue is the crossing guard at Olde Providence Elementary, Smithfield Elementary and Quail Hollow Middle.

She was Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools nominee this year for America’s favorite crossing guard.
