2 Charged In SouthPark Mall Thefts

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Two men were arrested Thursday and each charged with two felony larcenies that police said took place at SouthPark Mall.

Police said Stacy Goodson and Christopher Alston stole around $8,000 worth of Polo shirts from Belk and Dillard's in two different incidents. They went inside, grabbed the shirts and then rushed out, according to police.

The pair hired a third party to drive them to and from the mall, officers said.

A shopper saw the car's license plate number after one of the larcenies and called police, officers said.

The car was then found at a Charlotte hotel, police said, and the Goodson and Alston were arrested.

Police said the men intended to resell the shirts for cash at local businesses.
