SALISBURY, N.C.,None — Two people were killed and a third was in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident late Sunday night in Salisbury.
Roger Carriker and Heather Elizabeth Cross were killed when they were thrown from their motorcycle about 10 p.m. in front of a Wilco-Hess convenience store at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Airport Road, police said.
Police said the motorcycle was heading south on U.S. 29, and the car, driven by Dexter Jones, was pulling out of the convenience store when the accident happened.
The car's driver was in critical condition, and a male passenger, whose injuries were described as non-life-threatening, were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
Police said they do not believe speed played a factor in the accident.
