GASTON COUNTY, N.C.,None — Two men were found guilty Monday of shooting a pregnant Gastonia teenager.
James Garvin and John McGill were found guilty of first-degree murder in the April 2009 death of Keeraira Pendergrass. Police said the men were involved in a shootout and the 17-year-old was a bystander.
Pendergrass was sitting on her boyfriend's mother's porch along West Harrison Avenue when she was shot. Witnesses said her boyfriend and his brother got into a fight with McGill and Garvin that led to the shooting.
