CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Four Charlotte attractions made the list of the 30 most visited museums and historic attractions in North Carolina, according to an annual survey.
The annual survey of attendance at the state’s museums and historic attractions is conducted by Carolina Publishing Associates, the Matthews-based publisher of the Carolina Heritage Guide, Carolina Field Trips Magazine and the African American Heritage and Visitor's Guide.
The Biltmore in Asheville topped the list with 1,101,413 guests during 2011.
The Discovery Place, located in uptown Charlotte, placed third with 745,060 visitors.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame was ranked 20th with 216,630 visitors. The Billy Graham Library was ranked 26th with 163,919 visitors, followed by the The Mint Museum, which was ranked 27th with 149,000 visitors.
