6 Arrested In Gastonia Prostitution Sting

GASTONIA, N.C.,None — Six Gastonia women were arrested in what police said was a prostitution sting.

Officers conducted the sting on Thursday in areas of the city known for the sex trade, Channel 9's newspaper partner, the Gaston Gazette, reports. The investigation took place on Gaston Avenue, West Second Avenue, North Boyd Street, East Ozark Avenue, Brown Street and South Trenton Street.

In some cases, the women offered an officer sex for specific prices, according to arrest citations. In other cases, the citations say the women interfered with traffic as they flagged down drivers for the purpose of prostitution.

The following women were booked into the Gaston County Jail under $500 bonds on prostitution charges:
