Action 9: Man says company left cable in yard

A man says his cable company left a wire across his yard for weeks.

Robert Sanders said he was having trouble with his television, phone and Internet service with AT&T Uverse.

So the company sent a technician out to run a new cable line and said someone would be back to bury it, Sanders said.

“Nobody come look, nobody called me or nothing,” he said.

For six weeks, Sanders said, the cable was lying in his backyard, creating an eyesore and a problem for mowing the grass.

“I have to get off the lawn mower, take this wire, put it over here like this,” Sanders said.

Fed up, Sanders said he placed call after call to AT&T. He said he eventually got a call back from an AT&T rep in Canada assuring him she'd have the line buried.

“She said that's her job, the buck stopped at her,” Sanders said.

But still nothing happened, so Action 9 got in touch with AT&T.

The company apologized to Sanders for the inconvenience.  It then sent a crew with a trenching machine to bury the line.

Sanders was pleased the work was done, but wondered why it took so long.

“Look like they wasn't going to do it until I got in touch with you, Don, and I sure appreciate it,” Sanders said.
