RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina residents have a new resource when calling the state with questions.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue now has a new phone program, called "Callback Assist."
Residents can choose a time and phone number to receive a return call from an agency representative, so they don’t have to stay on hold during the influx of calls for tax season.
Individual income, attachment and garnishment issues at 1-877-252-3052 or 1-877-252-3252.
Employer garnishment questions at 1-888-352-0116.
Taxpayers who call back after receiving a message from NCDOR's automated dialing system at 1-877-252-4962.
