CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have issued an arrest warrant for Thomas Lee Davis in an unsolved homicide.
Davis, 41, is wanted in the Aug. 12 slaying of Linda Christine Wise, which occurred at 1215 Effingham Road in West Charlotte.
Anyone with information regarding this suspect's whereabouts is asked to call the Violent Criminal Apprehension team hot line at 704-336-VCAT (8828) or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
Wise, 54, was found dead in her home after witnesses reported hearing screams coming from inside the home, located in the Enderly Park neighborhood of West Charlotte, police said.
When the screams stopped, a witness went inside the home to check on the woman and found her lying on the floor, according to police. The witness then called 911.
Neighbors said they've been on edge since the homicide happened.
"It's kind of hard to sleep knowing that he's out here," neighbor Christine Jenkins said. "A lot of us are afraid. We've started locking doors and checking windows. We hear a noise [and] we're jumping."
A copy of a search warrant obtained by Eyewitness News confirms that Wise was stabbed repeatedly and also offers a glimpse at the evidence being collected, ranging from a plastic bag and plastic bottles to a screwdriver and hammer.
