Ceiling Of Rock Hill Walmart Partially Collapses On Boy

ROCK HILL, S.C.,None — An 11-year-old boy is recovering after part of the ceiling at the Rock Hill Walmart collapsed on him.

Laura Blue, the boy's mother, said he was standing in front of a Redbox movie machine on Saturday at the Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard when part of the ceiling fell, pinning him under sheet rock. Emergency crews took the boy to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to be OK, Blue said.

Ashley Hardie, a spokeswoman for Walmart, said the store is looking into what happened.

"We are looking into what caused the incident and are working directly with the customer to understand their needs. Our thoughts will continue to be with the young man involved as he recovers," she said.
