Deputies Find 26.5 Grams Of Crack Cocaine In Vehicle

DENVER, N.C.,None — Deputies in Lincoln County said they discovered 26.5 grams of crack cocaine while investigating a suspicious vehicle on New Year's Eve, Channel 9's newspaper partner, the Gaston Gazette, reported.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office noticed a man sitting in a parked vehicle for several hours at the Burger King on N.C. 73 in Denver. Another vehicle showed up at about 1 a.m., prompting narcotics officers to search the vehicles.

The search revealed the crack cocaine in one of the vehicles, deputies said. The drugs are worth $1,000 to $6,000 depending on how they're sold, according to sheriff's deputies.

Michael Alan Hollar, 22, of Denver, was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of a controlled substance. Charges are pending against two other people in connection with the incident.

Hollar was released on a $9,999 secured bond.
