MT. HOLLY, N.C.,None — Bible Study was canceled at a Mt. Holly church Sunday morning after a fire broke out in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Louise Avenue.
Gaston County Communications got the call just after 4 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters from Mt. Holly, Belmont, Catawba Heights and Lucia Riverbend fire departments responded and got the fire under control within 30 minutes. The Special Response Unit also responded, along with Ladder 33 from Charlotte Fire Department.
Officials said the building was a total loss and the fire caused between $75,000 and $85,000 worth of damage. No one was injured.
Authorities do not suspect foul play but are investigating the fire.
