STONY FORK, N.C.,None — A Greenville man was arrested Sunday in Stony Fork after a traffic stop yielded evidence of drug activity, according to the Watauga County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies stopped Justin Scott Weathington at about 12:30 p.m. on U.S. 421 South and searched the vehicle, finding felony amounts of opium or heroin, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office.
Weathington was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, felony trafficking in opium or heroin, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff's office stated.
He also was served an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia from Pitt County.
Weathington was held at the Watauga Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 secured bond.
