CHARLOTTE — One person was shot Wednesday night at a west Charlotte apartment complex, MEDIC said.
It happened in the 2200 block of Farmer Street off West Boulevard.
Neighbors said they heard about six or seven gunshots.
CSI and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers collected evidence for hours trying to piece together what led to the violence.
There appeared to be a bumper from a white vehicle near the rear of a UPS truck inside the area roped off with crime scene tape.
A white car nearby had its airbags deployed.
It is not known if there was a separate wreck or if the vehicles were somehow involved in the incident.
A resident who didn’t want to be identified said violence is common at the apartment complex.
“It’s sad,” the resident said. “And there’s better ways to resolve issues other than violence, because the shootings around, I fear that a bullet can come through my window.”
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No additional details have been made available.
