CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — The Chester County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead Tuesday morning.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. at a residence near Westbrook Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
When deputies arrived, they found one victim who had been shot. That person later died. Their identity has not yet been made available.
Investigators say they were quickly able to identify the suspect as 64-year-old Wayne Emile Jacob. Deputies are seeking an arrest warrant for murder.
Jacob is being held in the Chester County Detention Center. Deputies say there is no active threat to the community.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
