CHARLOTTE — One person was hurt after a fight on a Charlotte Area Transit System bus turned into a stabbing in east Charlotte Saturday, officials said.
MEDIC responded to the intersection of Woodland Drive and Commonwealth Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Saturday. Officials said they were dispatched for a stabbing call.
On Monday, CATS officials said the bus driver pulled over and asked some passengers to get off after a fight broke out on board. When they were kicked off, officials said one man stabbed another man. CATS reinforced that while the fight began on public transit, the stabbing did not occur on the bus.
Channel 9 was at the scene and saw Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police cruisers pull over a bus. An ambulance took someone from the scene, and police were seen questioning a man.
MEDIC said one person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
