CHARLOTTE — One person was struck and killed by a train Friday night in south Charlotte, officials said.
The incident happened at around 7:45 p.m. along Old Pineville Road near Tyvola Road.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department is asking residents to avoid the area while they conduct an investigation.
