Suspect wanted in deadly shooting at Hickory apartments

HICKORY, N.C. — Wade McArthur Danner Jr., 46, was shot and killed Monday on the front porch of a Hickory apartment, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m. at the Wimberly Crossing Apartments on 12th Avenue Southeast in southeast Hickory.

Witnesses said they heard four or five shots.

Octavius Dontae Morgan, 30, shot Danner during an argument, police said.

Morgan fled and is wanted for first-degree murder.
