GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — The East Gastonia exit on Interstate 85 was blocked for hours after a tractor-trailer crashed on its side Thursday, officials said.
The wreck happened just before noon on the northbound exit ramp.

The 18-wheeler was hauling 43,000 pounds of paper, which crews had to unload before they reopened the ramp.

Officers said the driver was going too fast when he overturned. He was not hurt.
Crews were able to reopen the ramp by 2 p.m.
