JORDAN LAKE, N.C. — A 6-year-old-boy is recovering after a snapping turtle attacked him at a North Carolina lake.
Erick Fagan's family was visiting Jordan Lake when they said the turtle bit straight through to the bone, leaving a 6-inch scar on his leg.
Doctors said the boy lost a lot of blood and can't walk until he recovers.
"Tears came to my eyes. I couldn't believe it. I about had a heart attack," said the boy's father.
Fagan's mother said a nurse in training rushed to help wrap his leg and stop the bleeding.
