CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, N.C. — A 72-year-old man drowned Saturday in a Chesterfield County pond, officials said.
Clayton William Price was fishing with a friend on a private pond off Taxahaw Road outside of Pageland, Department of Natural Resources said.
Price’s seat apparently broke when he fell overboard.
Chesterfied county sheriffs deputies are working a possible drowning. It happened in a 6 acre private pond near the county line off Taxahaw Rd. DNR officers on scene as well.

Divers recovered his body Sunday morning.
