Actress Angie Harmon makes plea for Studio Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Actress Angie Harmon was appointed to the Studio Charlotte board.

She made a passionate plea to Charlotte City Council members Thursday during an economic development meeting to approve Studio Charlotte.

The developer has until the spring to convince city leaders to OK the plan to remake the Eastland Mall site.

Harmon told city leaders she has chosen to raise her three daughters in Charlotte because she loves the city. She said she has to spend months away from them while she films her TV show "Rizzoli and Isles" in Los Angeles.

Harmon said not only will this project benefit her personally, but also the city of Charlotte.

"They come here. They rent homes. They stay in hotels. They have families that come to visit and they stay in hotels, so it just spreads and keeps going, in house, in Charlotte," Harmon said.
