CHARLOTTE — An advocacy group plans to speak tomorrow about an Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest that happened at a Charlotte health department building.
According to Telemundo, Elmer Flores was taken into custody in early March after dropping off his pregnant wife for an appointment.
She told the Charlotte Observer that he has been held in a Georgia detention center since then.
The group Siembra NC says Flores has no criminal record, while his wife says he does not have legal immigration status and will likely be deported.
ICE has not yet responded to requests for comment.
