Air Force mom returns from overseas to surprise family at ballgame

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A Stanly County family is back together after their mom was deployed overseas for more than six months.

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jacqueline Plumley has been serving in Qatar since October.

She surprised her four kids at her son’s baseball game Tuesday night.

“It was overwhelming,” Plumley said. “Not just seeing my kids but seeing everybody out here. It was special.”

Plumley said she’s excited to visit the beach with her family this summer.

Her kids are excited for her to make them a homecooked meal.

Plumley has been in the Air Force for 18 years and plans to retire after serving 30 years.
