ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — Alexander County Emergency Service is asking residents in one part of the county to use a different number if they need to call 911.
The director of Emergency Services said a problem with Century Link in the Bethlehem community is preventing residents from calling 911.
He said if someone in that area needs emergency help they can reach dispatchers by calling 828-632-2911 instead.
The Emergency Services Director said he is not sure how long it will take Century Link to fix the problem.
