Amber Alert for Durham 4-year-old canceled

DURHAM, N.C. — An Amber Alert issued for a North Carolina boy thought to have been kidnapped has been canceled.

Authorities said the boy, 4-year-old Ari Yanitan Aguilar-Castillo, was found safe. The boy's mother told WTVD that the boy was asleep in a closet the whole time.

She said she thought someone she did not recognize that was hanging around outside was involved in her child's disappearance.

She also told WTVD her family, along with police, had looked inside the house, including the closet, for the boy but did not see him because they believe he was under some clothes.

The boy said he fell asleep while playing hide-and-seek with his brother.
