ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Anson County Board of Education has voted to approve the return of sixth-grade students to elementary school.

The decision was made during a meeting on April 24.

According to the school board, students slated to attend Anson Middle School will now return to their previous elementary school buildings.

Those students might also have the option to attend or attend a re-imagined sixth-grade academy, the first of its type in the state that would be a school dedicated solely to that grade.
