4 Anson Co. schools set to return to in-person classes after flu cases forced remote learning

ANSON CO., N.C. — A total of four Anson County schools were closed this week because of flu cases among students and staff.

CDC statistics show that this is one of the worst flu seasons we’ve had in years.

Channel 9′s Glenn Counts spoke with parents and residents of Anson County about the recent closures.

Jessica Griffin, a parent, said that other parents need to take responsibility to keep kids safe.

“Anytime my kids are sick, I just keep them home and I think that is part of the problem,” Griffin said. “Parents send their kids to school sick and it spreads to everybody else.”

The county said they have deep-cleaned the schools in preparation for them to reopen this Monday.
