ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police arrested a man Monday night who they said shot and killed another man in Rock Hill in December.

Dwayne Sims, 52, was charged with murder in the death of Jerry Howard.
Sims shot Howard several times with a 9mm handgun in the middle of Amelia Avenue, according to Rock Hill police.

Investigators have not revealed what led up to shooting or how the suspect and victim knew each other.
Howard’s son, Jerry Howard, Jr., is a star running back at Northwestern High School and is committed to playing at Georgia Tech.
