Bar owner where missing soldier last seen arrested

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Deputies on Monday arrested the owner of a North Carolina bar where a missing Fort Bragg soldier was last seen.

However, the charges Steven Cantrell faces are not related to Kelly Bordreaux’s disappearance.

He was arrested on warrants for failing to appear in court and $400,000 in outstanding child support.

Bordeaux was last seen at his Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville on April 14. Her family still has hope she will be found.

“I text her nearly every day at some point, joking and just carrying on with my baby sister. Everything is upbeat, and everything is positive,” Olivia Cox said.

Officials said Bordeaux got a ride home from a man who works at the bar Nicholas Holbert.

He surrendered to police Friday for reportedly failing to register as a sex offender, but investigators have not said if he is a person of interest in the disappearance case.
