BELMONT, NC — The Belmont Police Department has made an arrest after a student reported being sexually assaulted by another student at Belmont Abbey College March 3.
Detectives have charged 18-year-old Zachary Thomas Harvath with first-degree forcible sex offense.
He was booked into the Gaston County Jail under a $250,000 bond.
Police said the incident was not a random act. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Angela Spataro with the Belmont Police Department at (704) 829-4082.
