UNION, S.C. — A California-based biotechnology company has pegged a site nearly 70 miles southwest of Charlotte for a new manufacturing operation.
MycoWorks, which makes leather alternatives using a manufacturing platform it calls Fine Mycelium, announced plans to establish its first full-scale manufacturing facility in Union, South Carolina. The operations will be housed at an industrial building at 260 Midway Drive. MycoWorks is working with Stream Realty Partners, CH Realty Partners and Gray to expand and enhance the building for its operational needs.
Stream announced the project this week. A spokesperson added that the facility is expected to create 400 jobs and MycoWorks plans to begin production there sometime in 2024.
