BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Troopers have a man in custody, accused of a deadly hit-and-run in Burke County.
According to Channel 9's partners at the Morganton News Herald, Jonathan Burgsteiner is facing charges in the death of 21-year-old Dalinette del Valle.
The woman was reported missing Thursday and her body was discovered by volunteer firefighters Friday evening along Interstate 40.
Troopers said they were able to match the car Burgsteiner was driving that night to a damaged car part found at the scene.
He was jailed on $10,000 bond.
