MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Sam Furr Road was blocked for hours overnight at Davidson-Concord Road in northern Mecklenburg County after a crash knocked down power lines and traffic lights.
Channel 9 crews could see the vehicle on its roof and lines drooping over the intersection.
Officers said the driver of the car hit the signal box and dragged down the power lines before flipping on its roof.
That driver was not seriously injured, officials said.
The intersection was reopened before 6 a.m.
