Channel 9 veteran reporters reflect on memories of 9/11

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Saturday will mark 20 years since the terror attacks that changed the nation forever.

It’s one of those moments when people never forget where they were or what they were doing. For three of our veteran reporters, they were in Charlotte trying to help our viewers make sense of the horror they just witnessed.

Now, Channel 9′s Mark Becker, Ken Lemon and Dave Faherty are reflecting on their memories of that day.

“It was a strange thing to watch that exodus. We’ve all covered hurricanes, cars going one way and you’re going the other, that’s how it felt uptown, and then when it was done, it was just hollow and empty, weird and eerie,” Becker said.

“When that second plane hit ... changed everything,” Lemon said.

>> In the video at the top of the page, they think back on the events of that day that will never be forgotten.
