CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Service has been restored for AT&T wireless customers affected by an issue connecting to 911.
AT&T said Wednesday night that there was a service issue for wireless customers attempting to call 911 in some areas in the nation.

AT&T sent a statement earlier in the night: "We are aware of a service issue affecting some calls to 911 for wireless customers and we're working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize to those affected."
Issues were reported in North Carolina, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland and Texas.
Customers were encouraged to contact local law emergency services directly.
