Charlotte man avoids prison after misusing COVID relief funds

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte father won’t spend any time in prison for spending COVID relief money on a beach house vacation and a Jeep Wrangler.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Shawn O’Donnell received $200,000.

Prosecutors said he falsified Paycheck Protection Program loan applications four times.

A judge sentenced him to 10 months of house arrest and two years of probation.
