VIRGINIA — State troopers say a Charlotte man shot into a car with two sisters inside.
Virginia State Police are charging Richard Ariviello with malicious shooting into a car, causing bodily harm, and using a firearm during a felony.
Troopers say he was driving on Interstate 77 in Carroll County when he shot at another car in a case of road rage.
A girl and a woman were hurt. They are expected to be okay.
Troopers also charged the other driver with reckless driving.
Ariviello is listed as the owner of Family Urgent Care in Monroe. After Ariviello’s arrest, Family Urgent Care sent Channel 9 the following statement: “We were saddened by the news of the serious incident that occurred on August 22, and our thoughts are with all those involved, the individuals who were injured, and their families. We understand how troubling this news has been for our patients, employees, and the broader community. The incident occurred away from Family Urgent Care and was unrelated to the clinic or its patients.
