CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When the COVID-19 outbreak first hit the U.S., the leadership team at Power Breezer wanted to find a way to help combat it. It was a customer’s recommendation that helped spark an idea.
Power Breezer manufactures industrial-sized oscillating fans that also spray mist to make temperatures cooler indoors and outdoors. Chief Revenue Officer Bryan Hoadley said a customer recommended putting in disinfectants with the water vapor to allow the fans to disinfect large areas. The company has close to 40,000 units out in the field, Hoadley said, so Power Breezer worked to develop the technology to allow the fans to spray disinfectants.
It takes 10 to 15 minutes to disinfect a 3,000-square-foot room, Hoadley said, and about the same time to ventilate the room. The company followed guidelines and recommendations from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, he said.
