The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has a new Patrol K-9 Unit member. Olin is a 10-month-old bloodhound and is a “tracking superstar,” CMPD said.
Olin specializes in missing and endangered persons.
“His nose is out of this world, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing work he will do to help keep our community safe,” CMPD said.
Olin was named in honor of a recently retired handler.
“Olin has the gentle spirit of an old soul, but don’t let that fool you,” CMPD said. “He’s still very much a puppy at heart, playful and full of joy, especially when he’s surrounded by kids.”
