Charlotte nonprofit helps small minority-owned businesses struggling during pandemic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tens of thousands of businesses permanently have closed because of the pandemic and many more have come close.

Nia Macadoo almost lost her custom clothing business.

“Our entire calendar canceled overnight. That was devastating,” she said.
