CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When it comes to locales that have the friendliest climates for small businesses, the Queen City is not exactly at the head of the class. That’s according to Thumbtack, a California-based company that studies startups and pairs professionals with jobs.
In fact, Charlotte comes in roughly around the middle of the 44 cities studied by Thumbtack for its 2019 Small Business Friendliness Survey, earning a B- for its overall landscape.
Check out this slideshow to see where each of the 44 cities landed.
The rankings are based on surveys of 5,000-plus small-business owners. Thumbtack quizzed respondents on such categories as licensing requirements, tax regulations and the ease with which they can hire workers.
