Child dies after found unconscious in lake in Tega Cay, officials say

TEGA CAY, S.C. — Tega Cay Police said a 3-year-old boy died after he was found unconscious in the lake Friday night.

Police said they were called to Marquesas Avenue around 7:15 p.m. for a missing child.

Officers said they found the child, who was not breathing, in the lake and immediately began CPR.

The child was taken to the hospital where he died around 8:27 p.m.

Investigators said they found no evidence of negligence.
