MINT HILL, N.C. — A child care provider in Mint Hill is asking the community to help beef up its security.
After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Blair Road United Methodist Church Preschool wants to add video cameras, locks on classroom doors and blinds on the windows.
It is hosting a parent date night Saturday night to help raise money.
Anyone can drop off their kids from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The school needs roughly $7,000 to make the upgrades.
