CLT lands Charlotte seafood restaurant The Waterman

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Douglas International Airport will expand its local food-and-beverage offerings over the next few years.

Those plans will bring The Waterman to the airport later this year or in early 2024. The neighborhood seafood joint will replace Phillips Seafood House in Concourse C, says Bob Boorom, vice president of operations for airport master concessionaire HMS Host.

That space is roughly 3,000 square feet.

Waterman founder Paul Manley says he’s been working on that deal for two years.

“Once we decided we were going to try to grow the brand, it just made sense to go to the front door of the city and that being the airport,” he says.

In addition, OMB and Great Wagon Road Distilling Co. will be expanding at the airport.
