CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman is facing DWI charges, accused of driving the wrong way on Arrowood Road in south Charlotte overnight.
Police said that just before 2:30 a.m. a witness saw the woman in a Ford SUV heading the wrong way, before she turned around and got on the ramp to Interstate 77.
Officers said once on the ramp, the driver -- whose name has not been released -- crashed into a steel beam holding up a road sign.
CMPD told Channel 9 the woman was impaired and not seriously hurt.
