CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were investigating the death of a woman found at a motel in north Charlotte Friday morning.
Officers responded to Equipment Drive just after 11 a.m. and found two women in a room at the Sunset Inn.
Police told Channel 9 that a maintenance worker found one woman on the floor and another in the bathtub. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-University, where detectives said she was in critical condition.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates there was no foul play and that the women were using drugs.
The women's names have not been released.
(Initially, CMPD said that both women had died but made a correction to state that the woman taken to the hospital was revived by hospital staff.)
