CMPD investigating attempted robbery of armored truck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were investigating after they said someone tried to rob an armored truck early Monday morning.

Officers said a Loomis van was near the ATMs at the Bank of America branch on Freedom Drive and Camp Greene Street before 8 a.m. when the robber approached with a gun.

The Loomis employee jumped back into the truck and the robber ran off, according to police.

No arrests have been made.
