CMPD identify pedestrian killed in south Charlotte crash

CHARLOTTE — Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a crash in south Charlotte last Tuesday.

Just before 6 p.m., authorities with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and MEDIC said they responded to a pedestrian struck call along Stonecroft Park Drive.

Responding officers said they found a pedestrian in the roadway with serious injuries and a Kia Telluride, with damage to the front end, near the injured pedestrian.

Police have since identified the pedestrian as 69-year-old Nona Fahl.

Investigators said that on the night of the crash, the Kia was traveling southwest on Colony Drive when Fahl was struck as she was crossing Colony Road from Stonecroft Park Drive.

MEDIC said Fahl was transported to Atrium Health, but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The driver of the Kia, 34-year-old Ryan Poage, was not injured.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
